I was just told about this here in Ontario, Canada, this morning by a mutual friend. How terribly sad for all of Steve's family and friends. His father, Herb and mine were IGA franchisees is the early 60's and Steve and I were friends during those days. Please pass on our condolences

I will certainly miss my good friend Steve. A story that I have told many times about him is when he helped put on a birthday party for my then 2 year old son and about 15 of his friends. Steve allowed his office and hanger to be transformed into a 1920's decorated airport for a 2 year old birthday party. Steve had bounce houses in the hanger and other kid games and sugar snacks throughout the office. He also had two small planes taking each birthday party participant and their family up for a quick flight! That was most of the kids' and their parents' first time in the air! I have never seen so many smiles and so much joy and excitement from kids and adults alike! Steve was all about family, friendship and making the most of life experience. I learned much from my friend and will cherish the times and experiences I was fortunate enough to share with him.
