Sean Patrick Barrett

August 23, 1974 - January 26, 2020

Sean Patrick Barrett of Watervliet, New York unexpectedly passed away on January 26, 2020 at Samaritan hospital, peacefully surrounded by his family.
Sean is survived by his daughter Ashley Barrett, son Tyler Barrett, former wife Jessica Barrett, sisters Annemarie Garceau and Patti Duncan, brother David Barrett, and girlfriend Michelle LaFond.
Sean was an incredible chef for over 20 years. He loved to cook with his children and made many wonderful memories for them in the kitchen. He was a sports fanatic, loving the Chicago Bears, Cubs and Boston Bruins for his whole life. Sean and his daughter listened to ESPN every morning as he taught her everything he knows. Sean and his son listened to music fully enjoying their time together. The time they share shaped his son's love for music. He loved to golf, though his follow through could've used some work. Sean's love for dad jokes brought a smile to everyone's face and an eye roll from his children.
Through this tragedy Sean chose to give, just as he did in life, and donated his organs to those that need them. Though there is severe devastation with Sean's passing, he gave others a brand new life. There's nothing he wouldn't do for others while he was alive and continued that in his death.
A viewing will be held Saturday February 1st, from 10am-11 at Parker Brothers Memorial in Watervliet, NY. Followed by the service from 11am-12. You are welcome to join the family for a reception in Sean's honor at the Elk's lodge in Watervliet, NY from 12-4.

So many memories to share ...Will only choose one lol, otherwise we might be here all day. Sean spent a lot of his time at my house with my son's as he was growing up . One of the things I wouldn't allow was smoking in the house . And he was very aware of this rule. Be that as it may , I had to go upstairs to get something and 4 of my boys along with Sean were sitting on the floor along side the bed and of course smoking . I pretended not to notice as they did try to hide it. Instead I went around the corner into the bathroom where I kept two huge cups for my plants filled them both with water and preceded back around the corner yelling fire and yup I did , threw both cups of water into their all five boys along with the cigs drenched. They all cracked up laughing . Something they all never forgot ! Big Bear we all loved you. Will miss you so much....Ma
