Roy "Buddy" Eddy Scrivner Jr.

June 1, 1937 - June 25, 2019

Roy Eddy Scrivner Jr, 82, of Vancouver, WA, passed away on 6/25/2019. He was born to parents Roy E. Scrivner and Maude L. Scrivner, on 6/1/1937 in Toppenish, WA.

He graduated from Toppenish HS in 1955.

Roy worked as a plumber/pipefitter for 40+ years.
He retired from Local #598 in 1999.

Buddy had a cowboy spirit and a strong faith and that allowed him to enjoy a variety of passions and hobbies during his life that included coaching his sons in little league baseball, riding horses, camping with family, tinkering with old cars and pickups, pitching horseshoes, riding motorcycles, playing golf with his sons, country music, family barbeques and family vacations. His biggest passions in life was his belief in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and the love for his family and friends. He was gentle, loving and compassionate towards others. He possessed a strong work ethic and was proud of the works he accomplished. He was a teacher who lovingly taught his trade as a plumber to his beloved nephew Gary whom passed it on to his sons ... he was proud of that. He was adventurous and at one time in the late 90's went on a gold seeking expedition with his son Randy in the wilderness of Alaska. Family vacations included a memorable Disneyland trip in a pickup and camper with his beloved wife Elaine and 5 small children (now that was an adventure!) He led a full life as a devoted loving husband, father, mentor and friend.

Buddy and Lois "Elaine" Sperry first met in 1958 at the Hubba Hubba Cafe in Toppenish, WA. Romance blossomed quickly and they were married on April 26th 1958 in Toppenish, WA. Together they raised 5 children: Eddie Roy, Randal Dale, Scott Alan, Timothy Wayne, Christopher Michael.

He was preceded in death by Roy E. Scrivner (father); Maude Scrivner (mother); Jean Hillestad (sister); and Leroy Scrivner (brother).

Roy is survived by Lois E. Scrivner (loving wife of 61 years); brother Richard Scrivner; sons: Eddie & his wife Darlene, Randal & his wife Betsy, Scott, Timothy, and Christopher; grandchildren: Jeremy Scrivner, Jeffrey Scrivner, Chad Scrivner, Kasey Curry, Dylan Scrivner, and Tanner Scrivner; great-grandchildren: Jaiden Zavala, Xander Curry, and Alexis Denton Scrivner; along with various cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family members; and beloved pet & constant companion Max.

The family has entrusted Keith & Keith Funeral Home with the arrangements. A Memorial Service is scheduled for July 19th, 2019 at 10:00am at 902 West Yakima Ave, Yakima, WA 98902. Eugene Scrivner will officiate the ceremony.

In lieu of flowers please take consideration in donating to Silent Wave Horse Rescue, White Salmon, WA. www.silentwavehorserescue.org
