Robert Lee Voss also known as Bob, dad, and grandpa (pawpaw) was born on July 2, 1954 in Rolling Prairie, Indiana to the late Edward Fredrick Voss and Ruth Reese Voss. He is preceded in death by his parents, late wife Cristina M. Touhey Voss, and daughter Patricia Smith. <br /> <br /> Bob was loved and adored by many. He will be remembered for his humble but goofy personality and his ability love hard. Bob loved to be on the road. His passion for traveling is what brought him to Georgia where he met Betty and spent the remainder of his life. <br /> Sadly after reconnecting with his daughter after searching for 22 years, he was diagnosed with cancer. Bob did not allow his diagnosis to scare him and he was determined to fight. Although he lost his battle to cancer, bob will live on through memories shared by Betty, his children and all of his grands and greats. Bob left this earth too soon and unexpectedly, but ultimately he lived a happy life surrounded by love and laughter. <br /> <br /> "In the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years". <br /> -Abraham Lincoln <br /> <br /> Survivors include: long time partner of 28 years, Betty Smith; children: Melanie (Anthony) Voss, Joseph (Colleen) Voss, Lillie (Robbie) Vaughn, Michelle (Vince) Darling, William (Crystal) Smith, Diane (Frankie) Cotton, and Rena (Stephanie) Smith; brothers: Gerald A. Voss, and Fredrick Voss; sisters: Susan Sayles, Claudia Manzeck, and Denise Oaks; 29 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. <br /> <br /> Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Thursday, June 6, 2019, at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga. 30165 with Rev. Herman L. Stamey officiating. <br /> Interment will follow at a later date. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, June 6, 2019 from 12pm until 2pm. <br /> <br /> Pallbearers include the following gentlemen: Robbie Vaughn, Vince Darling, William Smith, Frankie Cotton, Joshua Smith, and Jonathan Badon. <br /> <br /> Good Shepherd Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
