Phyllis Arlene White

April 3, 1955 - April 5, 2019

On Friday April 5, 2019, at her home, Ms. Phyllis White, suddenly and unexpectedly, went home to celebrate with our Lord and Savior.

Phyllis Arlene White was born on April 3, 1955 to the late Joseph William White and Vidy Lee Brower White in Moore County, North Carolina. She is the youngest of six (6) siblings (one preceded her in death- David White). Phyllis was raised in Jackson Springs, NC, where she received her education at Pinecrest High School in Southern Pines, NC.

Early in her life, she moved to Washington, DC in pursuit of her happiness. Eventually, Phyllis became gainfully employed with DCPS, where she received several awards, was promoted, and later retired from Bell Multicultural High School with the upmost honor and appreciation.

She was best known for her sense of humor, giving heart, and unconditional love for friends, and family. Sue enjoyed dancing to music, traveling, and cooking/tasting her favorite foods; when she was around, you knew you were going to have good times.

Phyllis leaves to cherish her loving memory, two daughters, Yoshua White-Jones (Marquis) & Jessie Holcomb; three grandchildren, Achilles Jones, Aaliyah Jones & Makayla Jones; three sisters, Lecola Brower, Maxine Jones (late Charles Jones Sr.) & Patricia McLeod (Robert); and two brothers, James "Earl" White (Debra) & Roger White (Connie). She also leaves one best friend, Sandra Winston; and a host of family & friends.
