Myra Retchin Perkins Pevzner

Myra Retchin Perkins Pevzner

December 24, 1947 - July 23, 2020

Myra Retchin Perkins Pevzner, transitioned from this world on 7/23/20. Myra's incandescent smile and contagious laugh will be greatly missed. She had a deep love of animals and people alike and never met a stranger. Her devotion to her family was unsurpassed and she showered her two children, Mark and Sheen, with truly unconditional love and acceptance so that they always knew how much she cared. It was rare that a cross word ever passed her lips and if it did, she would quickly turn it into something that was funny. Her greatest affections and adoration were always bestowed upon her grandson, Quinten, whom she doted on most of all. She was a well-loved wife, mother and Nana.

She will always be remembered for her loyalty and willingness to help in any situation and for the many conversations and gatherings that were always made more special by her bringing her family together to share the love and care she put into cooking an abundance of delicious meals for many decades. Above all, she loved her family.

After receiving her master's degree from Western New England College, she held positions of great responsibility at financial institutions and a law firm. She enjoyed attending services at the Jewish Synagogue in Longmeadow and playing cards at the Senior Center with her many friends.

Myra lived to be 73 years young and left us far too soon after battling illnesses for several years. She is preceded in death by her beloved brother Bruce, her parents, Frank and Naomi Retchin and Guy and Aileen Perkins, and her son, Mark Perkins. She leaves behind her daughter, Sheen Perkins, her grandson, Quinten Perkins, sisters Pam Perkins and Sita Sun, niece and nephew, Shanti and Toli, former husband, Guy Perkins, and recent husband, Steven Pevzner.

The service will be held at the Ascher-Zimmerman Funeral Home in Springfield, Massachusetts.

If you wish to make a contribution in Myra's memory, one of her favorite charities was the Humane Society of the United States.
