Marilyn Joyce Drew, 88, of Waldorf Maryland, passed away on November 17, 2019. Joyce, as she was called by those who knew and loved her, was born to Helen Morrison and Robert Robey on May 18th, 1931 in Lynchburg, Va. <br /> <br /> Joyce worked as an Administrative Assistant for 13 years. After 13 years of service, she retired from MCI - Verizon in 1997, to move to Englewood, Florida to help take care of her aging mother. <br /> <br /> Joyce raised her nine children and provided daycare for many children, including many of her grandchildren. Later in life, she ventured into the workforce and eventually took a position with MCI in Arlington, VA. When MCI relocated to Colorado Springs, Colorado, Joyce didn't hesitate to move cross country to continue her career. Joyce loved to bowl, walk on the beach and spend time with family. She was adventurous, even going white water rafting in her 70's. <br /> <br /> She was proceeded in death by her mother, Helen Virginia Morrison, and her daughter, Janice Roman. <br /> <br /> She is survived by her sons, John Drew (and wife, Adrienne) of Deale, MD, Lawrence Drew (and wife, Patti) of Jacksonville, FL, Robert Drew (and wife, Donna) of Barstow, CA, James Drew of Englewood, CO, and William Drew (and wife, Michele) of Locust Grove, VA; her daughters Brenda Kiker (and husband, Pat) of King George, VA, Valerie Trefry (and husband, John) of Waldorf, MD, Marilyn McKeon (and husband, Mike) of Kingman, AZ, and son-in-law Ken Roman of Hughesville, MD. <br /> <br /> She was the matriarch of 28 grandchildren, Mike Drew (and wife, Emily) of Churchton, MD, Michelle Cox (and husband, Billy) of Deale, MD, Pam Kinter of Greensboro, NC, Angie Malson (and husband, Clint) of Denali National Park, AK, Corinne Kiker (and Adam Jolly) of Carrollton, TX, Greg Nichols (and wife, Sandy) of Queenstown, MD, Cindy Flaherty (and husband, Brad) of Simpsonville, SC, Alex Roman of Hughesville, MD, Courtney Roman of Hughesville, MD, Leanne Etheridge (and husband, Brandon) of Neptune Beach, FL, Brian Drew of Jacksonville, FL, Matt Drew (and wife, Danielle) of Madison, OH, Jenna Tucker (and husband, Steve) of Costa Mesa, CA, Ricky Drew of Barstow, CA, Christina Gilliam (and husband, Steven) of West Springfield, VA, Emily Trefry of Astoria, NY, Joseph Trefry of Waldorf, MD, Merrilinn Drew (and fiancé, Mike Hawkins) of Weldon, NC, Patrick Drew of Weldon, NC, Jeff Havenner of Bel Alton, MD, Amanda Furr of Medford, OR, Ronny Jones of Kingman, AZ, Stephanie Sass (and husband, Bart) of Bel Alton, MD, Jonathan Smith, of Colorado Springs, CO (and Ashtynn Smith of Locust Grove, VA), William Drew (and wife, Suzanne) of Jacksonville, NC, Brianna Drew (and Zach Johnson) of Locust Grove, VA, Sierra Drew of Locust Grove, VA and Alyssa Drew of Locust Grove, VA. <br /> <br /> She was also loved by 46 great grandchildren, Kayla Westfall (and husband, Jordan) of Edgewater, MD; Christian Drew of Denton, DE; Abigail & Annabelle Drew of Churchton, MD; Allie, Lauren and Billy Cox of Deale, MD; Ethan and Marin Kinter of Greensboro, NC; Connor, Jack, Emma, Leo and Izzy of Denali National Park, AK; Carissa, Gavin, Kasey and Adyson Jolley of Carrollton, TX; Caden and Ava Flaherty of Simpsonville, SC; Ben Etheridge of Neptune Beach, FL; Brooklyn and Ava of Jacksonville, FL; Angus and Amelia Drew of Madison, OH; Henry Tucker of Costa Mesa, CA; SJ, Blake and Parker of West Springfield, VA; Jayden Nelson of Weldon, NC; Jeffery and Alexis of Kingman, AZ; David and Faith Furr of Medford, OR; Alina Furr of Bel Alton, MD; Ronny Jones III of Kingman, AZ; Joel, Kaylee, and Aspen Sass of Bel Alton, MD; Audrey and Olivia Smith of Locust Grove, VA; Liam, Trenton and Langston Drew of Jacksonville, NC; Zachary (Junior) and Jaxson, of Locust Grove, VA. <br /> <br /> She is also survived by her sister Marie Kernekin (and husband, Richard), 3 nieces, Donna Prince, Deborah Strunc and Trisha Baldwin, Truman King, Norman King, Nelson King, Brian King, Susan Funderberg, along with many great nieces and nephews and cousins. <br /> <br /> In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Charles County, 2505 Davis Rd, Waldorf, MD 20603 or go to hospiceofcharlescounty.org
