J. D. Jones, 81, of Blue Ridge, VA, passed away on 06/21/2020. <br /> He was born to parents Maxine Jones and Columbus Jones, on 05/07/1939 in Avondale, West Virginia. <br /> <br /> He graduated from Iaeger High School in 1958. He went on to enlist in the United States Army. <br /> <br /> J. D. served his country in the U.S. Army for 21 years, serving in Vietnam. <br /> He ranked as Master Sergeant in 1978. After 21 years of service, he retired. <br /> <br /> He was the youngest recruiter in the Army service, and received multiple awards during his time as a recruiter for outstanding performance. <br /> <br /> J. D. is survived by his wife, Theodosia Jones; Children, Jerry Jones and wife, Kay Jones, David Jones and wife Wendy Jones, and Melinda Jones Perdue; Siblings, Larry Jones, Dexter Jones, Joe Jones, Brenda Stephenson, Grandchildren, Michelle Wheeler and husband Danny Wheeler, Lindsey Jones, Taylor Jones, Anna Jones, Logan Perdue, Owen Perdue; Great Grandchildren, Andrew Wheeler, Stephen Wheeler, Caris Jones, Carson Wheeler. <br /> <br /> He was preceded in death by Parents, Maxine Jones and Columbus Jones; Siblings, Roger Jones, Gene Jones.

    So sorry for your loss just heard about it. Prayers for you and your family. We had some good times J.D.and Theo hung in with the whole Gand good memories and good time. Love and respected him.
