Marcy was born on October 7, 1964, in Bakersfield, California, and passed away on July 8, 2025, while working in Yucca, Arizona. He was one of the last true "Asphalt Cowboys". Marcy was a vibrant presence whose energy and spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Known for being the life of the party, his arrival always meant good times were ahead. His warmth and charisma brought joy to gatherings large and small, and his presence was a source of comfort and laughter to those around him. Family was at the heart of Marcy's world. He shared his life with his beloved spouse, Jamie Varela, and took such pride in his children: son Guillermo R. Varela and stepdaughters Tayler Owens (Reed) and Tara Hall. Marcy's deep love for his family extended to his parents, Guillermo and Ronda Varela; his brother Tony Varela(Tammy); nephew Michael Varela (Destiny); and niece Megan Stierwalt, as well as their children. Marcy had a passion for speed and competition that found expression in auto racing and go-karts. Whether in the pits or cheering from the sidelines, he embraced these hobbies with enthusiasm and joy. These pursuits reflected not only his adventurous spirit but also his love for camaraderie and shared excitement. His legacy is one of laughter, loyalty, and love—a man who brought light into every room he entered and who cherished those closest to him above all else. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire joy in their heart
