Donnie W. Miller, with his family by his side, received his angel wings September 30, 2020. <br /> <br /> Born in St. Louis MO, on December 9, 1969, to Merle D. Miller and (Frances) Joan Miller, Donnie lived the majority of is life in the Florissant, MO community. <br /> <br /> Donnie's first career was in restaurant and kitchen management, where he worked for most of his life. A strong advocate for animals, Donnie's passion was serving them. Working with MidAmerica Rottweiler Rescue (MARR), Donnie volunteered his time by being on MARR's board for several years; he helped transport many dogs to their foster & adopted homes and did countless home visits and dog evaluations. This work led to a full-time career change and for the last several years he worked at a County Pet Shelter and Adoption Center. In addition to caring for the fur babies, Donnie also volunteered and advocated for many charitable causes. Donnie's life was about giving to others. He was a hero, who did his work and expected nothing in return. <br /> <br /> Donnie is survived by his fur baby children, Rueben and Angel, his sisters Erin Miller-Deneault (Normand) and Dena Shelley (Michael), his niece Natalie and nephews James and Ben. <br /> <br /> He is preceded in death by his parents. <br /> <br /> In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Donnie's name, to the Mid America Rottweiler Rescue.     I remember living on Candelwick drive in Florissant in the 80's and it was a extremely hot summer. I was in front yard and everyone else ( neighborhood kids ) were outside. Donnie must have gotten a new jean jacket coat and was riding down the street on his ten speed wearing the jacket and blue Jean's.
