Bobby Earl Griggs, 55, passed away at his home in Grand Rapids, Michigan on Sunday, October 28, 2018. <br /> <br /> Bobby was born in Marvell, Arkansas on March 8,1963, and the family later relocated to Grand Rapids, MI. Bobby attended Grand Rapids Public School, where he met and married Roybin Johnson. To this union, 9 children were born. His family was the love and joy of his life. Bobby enjoyed fishing, telling jokes, helping in the community, and having water fights with his children & grandchildren; and spending time with his family and others. Bobby was a joy to be around and a great storyteller. Throughout the trials and tribulations of his life, his kind and caring spirit remained in tact and he helped everyone he could, even if it meant putting himself last. He was selfless with his love and Bobby will be deeply missed but forever in our hearts. <br /> <br /> Awaiting his arrival and to welcome him home were, his wife Roybin Griggs (the love of his life) and father, Ozean Griggs. <br /> Bobby leaves in God's care: his parents, Ernestine and Lee Franklin; 7 sons, Bobby Jr. (Lametta), Deveire, Detroy (Janay), Diabate, Deante, Deondre, & Deveion Griggs; 4 daughters, Tamanika (Jolin) Fields, Taniya, Candace, & Crystal Griggs; 3 brothers, Tommie Franklin, David & Anthony Griggs all of Grand Rapids, MI; 3 sisters, Alice Dawkins of Milwaukee,WI, Ruth Rhodes of Grand Rapids, MI & Gail Griggs of Toledo, Ohio; 27 grandchildren; 1 great grandson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
